Welcome to Piki Te Ora Health Centre.
Piki Te Ora is provided by Piki Te Ora Health Centre Trust. It was formerly known as Union and Community Health Centre (UCHC), until November 2022 when the charitable trust was formed and then purchased the facility at 201 Linwood Avenue.
It is a primary health care service which was established in 1989 by a group of Trade Unions, who saw the need for greater affordability and accessibility to primary health care for ordinary working New Zealanders.
The continued vision and sense of social justice of these founding members enabled UCHC to alter its constitution in the mid 1990’s, so that an increasingly diverse range of people were able to access the service.
The new charitable trust continues the mahi of the founding members by providing affordable and accessible primary health care to the local whanau and community.
