Currently while we are under Level 4 lockdown for COVID-19 we are making all appointments via telephone on 03 381 8048. Please call us first before coming to the practice. We may still be able to see you face to face but this needs to be assessed via phone first.
Please do not enter the medical centre unless you have been assisted by a staff member at the door first.
While we are in Level 4 our charges for phone consultations will be $10-$18 dependent on the consult with the Doctor.
Our prescription charge remains the same at $7
We do not operate a drop-in clinic.
Please make an appointment to see the doctor or the nurse. Call reception on (03) 381 8048 to book an appointment.
General appointment information
Standard appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes for both doctors and nurses. It is usually only possible to deal with one problem in that time. If you think you will need longer, please book a longer appointment which may incur an extra fee.
It is very helpful if you can tell our reception team whether your appointment is for a particular need such as ACC, insurance medicals, contraception etc so they can be fitted in appropriately.
Because our doctors only work part-time, it may not always be possible to see the same doctor on each visit. However, if you book in advance you can usually choose who you would like to see. To find out which days our doctors work, see Our Team > Doctors.
Appointments for long-term medical problems and non-urgent appointments
It is helpful if you could book in advance. There is a bout a 1-2 week wait for these appointments, however during our busy season it can be as long as 4 weeks.
We recommend if you know you need to see the doctor regularly, try to book in advance so you can see your doctor when you need to. It is a good idea when you are here seeing your doctor you make your next appointment before you leave.
We only book the first and the last appointments of the day in advance.
On the day appointments
If you need something more urgently, you can call us on the day for an appointment. The reception team will give you a doctors appointment if it is available. If there are no appointments available on the day, our receptionist will ask you if you are sick and what the problem is. If appropriate they will either book you in for nurse assessment or will get a nurse to phone you back to discuss your health concern. Our nurses are highly skilled and trained to assist you with many health problems. You do not always need to see a doctor. If after talking to you, the nurse feels that you need to be seen by a doctor, they will make this appointment for you. There are some busy times when we are fully booked and are unable to see any more patients. In this instance staff may refer you to the 24 Hour Surgery.
Running late / cancelling appointments
Please let us know if you are running late or need to change your appointment. If appointments are not kept without letting us know in reasonable time to re-book them, a fee may be charged. We only have a limited amount of appointments a day so it is important we use any cancellations. If you are very late for your appointment, we may not be able to see you that day.
You are welcome to bring a chaperone or support person with you to your consultation. If you would like a staff member to act as your chaperone during a consultation or procedure, please let reception know at the time of booking your appointment.
